IABP is delighted to announce that the main access road at Phase 1 (shown below) has been officially named as Vallance Road.
The name was chosen in recognition of the airfield’s long history where the first scheduled aircraft movement recorded at Dalcross took place on 19 February 1942, when Henry Vallance flying a Scottish Airways DH Rapide from Kirkwall found both Longman and Culloden airfields fogbound and subsequently landed at Dalcross in the dark.
