NEW LOGANAIR FLIGHTS FROM INVERNESS TO BERGEN AND NORWICH CONFIRMED FOR 2018
Scotland’s Airline Loganair today announced an exciting programme of expansion as it launches its schedule for its first full summer of flying under its own name and brand.
Loganair is launching a new three-times weekly jet service linking Manchester and Inverness with Bergen, the Norwegian city known as the “gateway to the fjords”. Operating on a year-round basis, it is Inverness’s second regular international service and it will join Loganair’s network alongside existing flights to the Norwegian city from Glasgow, Shetland and Orkney.
New flights will also operate over the summer between Norwich and Inverness – non-stop from June to September every Monday and Friday; from Norwich to the Isle of Man to meet demand over the world-famous TT Races in the Isle of Man; and from Glasgow to Guernsey, where a new Saturday service will be introduced from May 26 to September 15, marking Scotland’s only direct link to the second largest of the Channel Islands.
Managing Director Jonathan Hinkles said: “We’re delighted to be launching a brand new range of services for Summer 2018 to cement Loganair’s position as one of the UK’s fastest growing and popular airlines.
“Since we started flying under our own name once again from 1 September – after nearly three decades of services under franchise agreements with other airlines – we’ve seen a tremendous response to Loganair’s strong Scottish identity and the friendly service that we offer, which includes a free 20kg baggage allowance, free in-flight refreshments and a commitment to no credit or debit card payment surcharges.”
HIAL Managing Director, Inglis Lyon, said: “Loganair’s announcement of the new and continued services from key HIAL airports is a tremendous way to end the year and will be a significant bonus to the increasing number of people who use our airports across the country. This important mix of increased business connectivity and further access to onwards destinations from key airport hubs like Manchester and London Stansted are absolutely in line with what HIAL customers demand and we will work closely with the airline to ensure that the services work for all involved.
“The Bergen flights are ideal for those looking to take advantage of the ski season, and the Norwich service connects two increasingly vibrant areas of the UK.
“HIAL passenger figures for 2017 have been outstanding and announcements like this mean we can look forward to 2018 with increasing confidence of delivering further year-on-year growth for the business.”
